Costa Adeje
Up and coming resort with lots of development taking place, lots of 4 and 5-star hotels. Slightly on the outskirts, off the beaten track, but still with bars and restaurants located closely. Quiet and upmarket would suit couples and families.
FAST FACTS : Costa Adeje has a wide, traffic free promenade which runs the full length of the resort. It runs from Los Cristianos to Playa de las Americas.
Playa de las Americas
South of the island of Tenerife and definetely the liveliest of all the resorts on the island. It is full of bars, bars and more bars and is ideal for those who want to be in the centre of it all. Not suitable for those who want peace and tranquility!
FAST FACTS : Playa de las Americas is a tourist mecca built in the late 1960's and neighbours Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. It is ideal for the Club 18-30s.
Los Cristianos
My personal favourite resort, still south of the island and close enough to Playa de las Americas that you can walk in for the bars and the nightlife. For those not wishing to leave this resort you still have many bars and restaurants, but on a much quieter & relaxed scale. A holiday here would suit couples and families alike.
FAST FACTS : Los Cristianos has nice beaches and a wonderful harbour that offers fishing trips, pleasure cruises, diving excursions and ferries to La Gomera.
Puerto de la Cruz
North of the island, much greener due to the location it can tend to be cloudy, but not cold by any means. This is probably the quietest resort on the island, which is why the majority of visitors tend to be over 60.
FAST FACTS : Puerto de la Cruz has an Old Town is very pretty in parts and it is one of the few resorts where the locals still work, eat and drink.
